Regency Guarding and Events Helps Mid Essex Hospital Trust During Covid-19 Pandemic

Mon 13th July 2020

From the beginning of March, Regency Guarding and Events have been assisting the MEHT (Mid Essex Hospital Trust) with security staff to reduce pressure during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Regency security personnel have been assisting the in-house teams (security and porters) seven days per week at St Peters Hospital Maldon, Braintree Community Hospital and the Broomfield Hospital Chelmsford.

The staff have been positioned at key entrances to the hospitals ensuring all people entering are following the correct guidelines, including wearing facemasks whilst inside the buildings. Regency has also been protecting key areas of the hospitals and conducting occasional patrols within the hospital grounds.

Conor Powers, Executive Director of Regency Guarding and Events said: “Whilst the event security has been non-existent during lockdown because of cancellations and postponements, we have seen a big increase in mobile and static guarding within the healthcare and retail sectors. The security staff operating within the Mid Essex Hospital Trust have been exceptional, but I also want to recognise and thank all our teams across the country who have played an extremely important role during the past few months and will continue to do so in future months to come. Now as we ease out of lockdown, certain events are now being planned for the remainder of this year and into 2021. We all just need to take those extra steps and precautions including using common sense to prevent a second peak.”
